The photo for this painting was taken in 2009 at a Maasai village in a very remote section of the Maasai Mara, Kenya. While touring the village I noticed this beautiful, regal, elegant woman standing by her “boma” or house. I was moved by her quiet dignity.

"Lilac-breasted Roller"
The photo for this painting was taken in the Maasai Mara, Kenya in 2021. This was my first solo safari. I have traveled with Capture Africa Tours exclusively since 2016. This is such a good company I knew I would be well cared for during my safari. I was extremely fortunate to have Henry as my guide. The only time Henry asked me to take a photo for him was of the Kenyan national bird, the lilac-breasted roller. I painted it as a gift for Henry and his family.
