"Fabulous Fatu"
The photo for this painting was taken in 2018 at the Rhino Center in Old Pejeta Concervancy, Kenya. Fatu is one of only two northern white rhinos left on earth. Currently there are monumental efforts in the world scientific community to create another northern white rhino. Through harvesting eggs and frozen sperm, having a surrogate mother carry the baby and ensuring that Nanjin and Fatu teach the offspring socialization and traits of the northern white rhino it is hoped this sub species will no longer face the devastation of extinction.
